Help your Chamber support area business and shape the future of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Community! Sign up now to serve on one of the following Chamber committees. (You or your employer must be a Chamber of Commerce member in order to serve on a Chamber committee.)

___GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
Reviews legislation at the local, state and national levels. Recommends policy to the Board on legislation and community issues. Conducts the Legislative Breakfast and forums on pertinent issues. Works to promote regional cooperation through the Northeastern Pennsylvania Community Progress Award.

___SMALL BUSINESS COUNCIL
Discusses issues of importance to area small businesses. Runs programs and services to help small businesses succeed.

___AWARDS
Organizes nominations, marketing/PR, judging and presentations of all the Chamber annual awards (i.e. Small Business of the Year, Business/Education, ATHENA, Pride of Place, Young Entrepreneurs and Diversity.)

___NONPROFIT COMMITTEE
Reviews issues of importance to nonprofit organizations. Conducts appropriate programs on nonprofit issues.

___ BEAUTIFICATION
Works to beautify area entranceways and major public areas in our community.

___TRANSPORTATION TASK FORCE
Works with federal, state and local agencies and officials to maintain and improve our transportation system in the Wyoming Valley region.


___WOMEN IN BUSINESS
Conducts monthly luncheon meetings to provide area business women with an opportunity to share information and hear presentations on topics and issues of importance. (This is a paid membership.) Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon.

___AMBASSADORS
Works to increase the awareness of the Chamber and your business throughout the Wyoming Valley, promote business networking at Chamber events, and conducts monthly visits to fellow member businesses (visitation).

___TOTAL RESOURCE CAMPAIGN
Assists in marketing Chamber membership, sponsorships and marketing opportunities to businesses in NEPA through a 12 week development campaign. Program includes volunteer incentives.


___HUMAN RESOURCE TASK FORCE
Develops tools and strategies to assist member organizations in dealing with workplace/work force issues.

___DIVERSITY TASK FORCE
Discusses issues of race, class, gender, ability, and sexual orientation, among others, in the context of economic development, and advises the Chamber on actions, activities and programs that will both help to improve the productivity of member organizations and to make the region a more welcoming community for everyone.
