A real community showpiece, this 1930's era art decor, 1800-seat theater features name entertainment from ballet to theater, Philharmonic to rock, drama to comedy. Besides the auditorium, the center contains a 3500 square foot banquet/meeting room and a mezzanine gallery.

Founded in 1922, The Little Theatre is the oldest continuous community theatre in the U.S. The nonprofit theatre performs and presents five shows during its September-to-June season and holds a summer theatre workshop for high school students.

Showcase is the area's only arena theatre. Since 1963, the theatre has presented a varied and challenging range of plays and musicals. The theatre offers twenty-four performances in its September-to-June season, plus workshops for new directors, and special children's programs.

Wilkes-Barre Artistic Ensemble is the area's newest theatre group. Its three distinctive performances each year are selected with the purpose of complementing offerings by other local theatre companies. Its first production was Oedipus Rex by Sophocles.
